Your member account information accessible through this site is protected by security measures including authentication, monitoring, auditing, and encryption. E-mail communications between you and SERS, other than the SERS secured web forms, are not protected by these security measures.

Collection of Personal Information

The information we receive from your visit depends on the services you use and the information you provide while at this website. SERS is committed to protecting the confidentiality of the personal account records of its members. Federal and state law protects these rights. Personal information is not sold, and will not be distributed, to unaffiliated third parties except as required by law. If you browse through this website and look at, print, and download forms, publications, and general information, no personally identifying information about you is revealed or recorded. We do automatically collect and maintain the following information about your visit:

The domain indicates what type of service provider you are connecting from, e.g., a commercial carrier, a governmental entity, or university. As a service, we provide our members with online access to their own member account information. We require user IDs and passwords, and use data encryption and third-party verification to protect your member account information. In order to access your member account information through our Website, you will need to provide your user ID and password. In order to establish your user ID and password, you must provide your Social Security number, birth date, and ZIP code. Accessing your account information online is voluntary. If you choose not to utilize our online account information service, you will still be able to use all other features of our website. You may also contact SERS by telephone or through U.S. mail or by visiting our office. You may request deactivation of online access to your account by contacting our office at 800-878-5853.

We make every effort to provide you with the most current and accurate information. Your account information is subject to change because of an audit or because of new or different data provided by you or your employer. If you believe that personal information that you provided to SERS contains inaccuracies or needs to be updated, please contact SERS and provide updated information.

Using Email

When you use email to request additional or different services, the information we receive depends on the information you provide to us in your message. Depending on the purpose of your email, SERS staff will use the information you provided to respond appropriately and maintain necessary copies of your email. This may be done by responding to you through email, regular mail or by telephone; or by addressing issues you identify. The Retirement System does not provide personal account information through emails. SERS is not responsible for unauthorized access by third parties to personal information you reveal in your email messages. E-mail communications between you and SERS, other than the SERS secured web forms, are not protected by encryption or other special security measures.
